Understanding Translation | Copywriting
Posted on July 10, 2012 by Chris
Translation is not often as straightforward as those purchasing may believe.
If translators are asked to translate a text, that is exactly what they will do. Sometimes though you may need the translation to be copwritten too in order to make it flow better and be much more readable to the target audience. If a text is simply translated the final product will be a faithful representation of the source text, containing the same information and written in the same style. This style may not be appropriate in the foreign language and therefore, if the style is important, the text should be translated by a translator with very good copywriting skills. In order for us to pick the most suitable translator this needs to be specified before the translation process begins. This could mean the difference between a good translation that flows perfectly in the target audience and just a correct translation!
